Lake Nakuru Lodge lies in the south-east of Lake Nakuru National Park. Situated above the lake and ringed by forests of Euphorbia Candelabra and acacia, the lodge commands a stunning view over the lake and beyond to the Menengai Crater and the Aberdare range. 

Location 

Lake Nakuru Lodgeis located within Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is 160 kms north of Nairobi and lies at the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Nearby are the lakes of Elementaita, Naivasha and Bogoria.

Lake Nakuru Lodge offers a total of 68 rooms and cottages (mosquito nets, telephones, in-room safe, and veranda with a panoramic view of Lake Nakuru). 

Dining and bar provision

Lake Nakuru Lodge offers a central dining room and bar. Meals are traditionally served buffet style and will include a broad selection of Kenya, international and local choices. Vegetarian options are always provided by the safari lodge and children’s mealtimes and menus can usually be arranged with prior notice. Bush BBQs are also featured as are African nights.

Family and children on safari 

Lake Nakuru Lodge welcomes children and can arrange baby-sitting upon request. Cots and extra beds provided. No age-limit for children at this safari lodge.

What to see and do on your Kenya wildlife safari 

Wildlife game drives around the park can be arranged with picnic lunches (at the hippo pools or Baharini Springs) as can ‘sundowner trips’. The safari lodge resident naturalist can lead nature walks or bird-spotting tours in the immediate vicinity of the safari lodge – or in the park as a whole. Within easy (half an hour) reach of Nakuru town, with its many restaurants, bars and nightlife, Lake Nakuru Lodge serves as an excellent base for visits to the town and to the surrounding sights, such as Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site, and the Menengai Crater.
