Samburu Simba Lodge

Samburu Simba Lodge is a relatively new lodge, situated in the Buffalo Springs National Reserve, which is a part of the larger Samburu system. Ideally located on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, the lifeblood of this arid area, all rooms and central areas have views of the river and the nearby waterhole, where large herds of elephants and other wildlife come to drink. The lodge has two luxury swimming pools, a restaurant and bar, a curio shop and expansive conference facilities. 

Location

The Samburu National Reserve of northern Kenya, conjoined with the smaller but no less attractive Buffalo Springs and Shaba Reserve, lies 320 kilometres from Nairobi at an altitude of  857 meters above sea level.

Wildlife highlights: elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, buffalo, hippo, zebra, oryx, gerenuk, gazelle, gerenuk, hyrax and klipspringer. Birds: 395 recorded species. 

Accommodation

The lodge offers 80 ensuite rooms (terrace, reading desk,phone extension, power duct, overhead fan.Mosquito nets, hair dryers are provided on request). The lodge also offers 18 cottages. Interconnecting rooms are available and access for handicapped guests. 

Dining and bars

The lodge offers a central dining room and bar. Evening displays of Samburu dance are offered. 

Conferences and events

The lodge has conference facilities for up to 1,000 guests as well as a business centre and full global connectivity.

The lodge welcomes children and interconnecting family rooms are offered.
