The Safari Park Hotel stands in 64 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds incorporating a wide variety of indigenous trees and offering sanctuary to a startling array of birds and butterflies. One of Nairobi’s most cosmopolitan city lodge hotels, the Safari Park is also one of Kenya’s largest and most exciting theme parks. An oasis of tranquility in the heart of Nairobi, the Safari Park Hotel blends stylishly elegant architecture, supremely luxurious accommodation, sparkling water gardens, an inland beach, beautifully landscaped gardens and a wide choice of international restaurants.

The site on which the hotel stands was once an Officers’ Club, established by the British Army during colonial times. Later, a simple hotel was constructed on the site; known as the Spread Eagle Hotel, it made the ideal safari stop-over for travelers heading north to Mount Kenya and beyond. The wooded grounds and fresh country air also made a tranquil retreat for the residents of the rapidly expanding city of Nairobi. 

The Safari Park Hotel came into being in 1974 and was continuously expanded and renovated between 1986-1992. The grand opening took place in November of 1992. Attractions 

The Safari Fitness Club offers a 2000 sq m tropical swimming pool with inland beach, a full-sized training pool, 2 squash courts, 3 tennis courts (2 floodlit) and a 2 km jogging track. We can also arrange for horse riding (5 km from the hotel) and golf (there are five excellent 18-hole golf courses within 10-30 minutes drive from the hotel).The hotel also offers a fully equipped Health Centre and beauty/hairdressing facility.

Complementary bus shuttle services are offered between the hotel and the city centre twice daily (10.00am and 1pm from reception, 10.30am and 1.30pm from collection points at City Market and Nakumatt Downtown). 

Casino Paradise and King Solomon’s Mine: Nairobi’s largest casino offers a selection of state-of-the-art gaming tables and 106 computerized slot machines offer jackpots paying out up to one million shillings.

Executive Suites offer both an elegant bedroom and a spacious reception room, each with TVs. The Presidential Suite, meanwhile, is a luxury apartment in its own right. All The Safari Park Hotel rooms have been located so as to enjoy panoramic views of our landscaped grounds, and all enjoy 24/7 WiFi and a high standard of 24-hour room service. . Every room enjoys 24-hour room service and is provided with a refrigerated mini-bar, an ensuite bathroom (hair-dryer, bath, shower, WC and bidet), an in-room safety deposit box, WiFi and a television offering the following stations: CNN, BBC, KBC, KTN, DSTV, TV5, STV, Nation TV, CCTV 4. A same-day laundry service is offered 7-days a week (at additional cost).

The Nyama Choma Ranch: Essentially Kenyan in both atmosphere and cuisine, the Nyama Choma Ranch offers a stunning selection of flame-roasted barbecued meats; sizzling hot, served on skewers and sliced at your table; served alongside jacket fries, crisp salads and tasty dips. The Ranch also features a theatre-stage and the Safari Cats performance nightly. 

A team of professionally trained and choreographed dancers, the Safari Cats are unrivalled for the pulsating impact of their 45-minute performance. A kaleidoscope of colour, culture, acrobatics and raw excitement, the Safari Cats’ stage show is the premiere event in town. And when the cats go off the stage: a live band comes on. 

La Piazzetta: Intimate yet relaxed, La Piazzetta Italian Restaurant offers home-made Italian pasta, fresh-made pizzas hot from the wood-burning oven, a tempting array of antipasti and a wide range of Italian wines. 

The Chiyo Japanese Restaurant: an oasis of oriental calm set against a backdrop of rice paper screens, bamboo fronds and sculptured Japanese gardens, Chiyo showcases the essential culture of Japanese cuisine (sushi, sashimi, Tepenyaki and Korean cuisine)

The Safari Park Hotel Bars: Hemingway’s lounge is presented in time-honoured safari style and offers inside and outside seating, live piano music, cocktails etc. The Piano Bar offers live piano, wide-screen TV for sporting events etc. Paradise Theme Park: a wilderness area showcasing traditional ‘bush dinners’ with campfires, dancers, BBQ etc.

Conference and event facilities 

With a capacity of 1000 delegates, The Safari Park Hotel’s fully-air-confiditioned Jambo Conference conference centre offers: simultaneous translation, state-of-the-art audiovisual and media presentation equipment, mood lighting and studio sound.
