Leopard Beach Resort & Spa

Situated on Diani Beach, 34 km south of Kenya's bustling port of Mombasa, the Leopard Beach Resort enjoys a prime location on one of the world's most stunning beaches. Tropical gardens descend through water-garden terraces to the silver sand of the Indian Ocean below, where year-round warm waters, sheltered by the Kenyan barrier coral reef, offer endless opportunities for beach activities, water sports, diving and snorkelling. This popular beach holiday resort itself offers a wide range of accommodation, two stunningly designed bars, numerous restaurants and a wide range of activities to include an international PADI dive school and world-class golf at the adjacent Leisure Lodge. Kenya’s south coast, one of her most popular beach holiday destinations, offers clear blue sea, marine parks, excellent water sports, coral reefs, monsoon winds, numerous hotels and beach resorts, family vacations, sun n sand, cultural and beach travel and more. Location

The resort is situated on Diani Beach on Mombasa's South Coast and is easily accessible from: Mombasa Town (34 Km), the international airport (45 Km), and the local Diani airstrip (5 km). 

Accommodation

Dotted amongst 25 acres of magnificent tropical gardens are 158 comfortable and welcoming rooms, presented in tasteful colour schemes ranging from fresh citrus-lemon and sky-blue, to ruby-red and jade-green. Each ensuite room (bath, shower and bidet) offers air-conditioning, multi-channel satellite television, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, mosquito nets and a well-stocked mini-bar. There are 70 standard rooms, 20 superior garden-view rooms, 48 sea-facing superior rooms, 7 suites, 10 ‘Chui Class Cottages ' (private, luxury cottages with their own private gardens or patio) and 3 luxury villas. The Honeymoon, Executive and Superior suites also offer DVD/CD players (and a selection of discs), large living areas and power-showers and/or Jacuzzis. All rooms come with ‘Chui Class' service, which includes 24-hour room service, valet and laundry services. 

Dining and bars

There are three table-d'hôte venues: buffet or set-menu in the ’Horizon Restaurant’ and Terrace, al fresco dining in the ’Coco Beach BBQ’, and African cultural nights on the ‘Nyama Choma' terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. The award winning Chaines des Rotisseurs speciality restaurant, the ‘Chui Grill' offers fresh seafood and grills on a teak-timbered deck overlooking the lily ponds. The resort also offers a beachside Italian restaurant, ’Pizza ‘n' Pasta Tornati’ and the ’Pool Bistro’, which offers a wide selection of snacks and grills throughout the day. The resort also offers two stunning bars, one inside and one on an open deck shaded by a vast panoply sail roof.

Conference and event facilities

The resort offers conference facilities for up to 100 persons. There is also a Business Service Centre and Cyber Café and a resident’s lounge.  The hotel also makes the ideal wedding venue, offering numerous themed wedding choices and a superb honeymoon suite. 

Child-friendly

The hotel offers children’s meals, ice-creams and fresh juices, supervised pool, children’s animation, camel rides and numerous beach pursuits. 

What to see and do

The activities on offer include swimming, snorkelling, sea kayaking, diving, water sports, dhow trips, glass-bottom boat trips, nature trails, butterfly farms, places of historic interest, visits to the nearby Shimba Hills (a coastal national park with plentiful elephant) or to the world-famous Arabuko Sokoke Forest, one of the last of the rainforests.  

The resort offers its own gift shop, hotel doctor on call, shuttle services to Mombasa town and airport, private car hire and taxis. Hair dressing, beauty salon and massage centre, safaris and excursions to National Parks, access to casino.

As for water sports, “The Crab” S.S.I PLATINUM/PADI 5 STAR centre offers:

Scuba diving both for beginners and advanced divers, Deep sea fishing, windsurfing, glass-bottom boats, snorkelling, kite-surfing, catamaran, kayak or pedalo hire. 

The resort also offers: darts, billiards, table-tennis, water-polo, aerobics, beach football and volleyball, floodlit tennis, and an 18-hole par 72 golf course (at the adjacent Leisure Lodge).Nightly entertainment includes: live bands, acrobats, traditional dancers, magic shows, cabaret and ‘animation-team’ sports and games activities throughout the day. There is also a nature trail leading through 6 acres of indigenous forest.
