Voi Safari Lodge, built in 1969, was one of Kenya’s first safari lodges and enjoys a unique location overlooking the rolling savannah of Tsavo East. Constructed on a rocky outcrop and surrounded by typical African kopjes, it is constructed above a swimming pool, which has been excavated from the rock and offers an ideal viewing platform down to the water hole below. The waterhole itself, offers a photographic hide reached by an underground passage and is a vital draw to sometimes thousands of animals.

Although not extensively renovated since its construction, and host to considerable numbers of tour buses over the lunchtime period, Voi Safari Lodge offers reasonably priced accommodation, a great location within the park but just off the Mombasa road at Voi, a superb swimming pool and immediate access to the park. 

Location of the lodge 

Voi Safari Lodge, built in 1969, is strategically situated in one of the World’s Largest Game Park – the Tsavo East National Park. Voi Safari Lodge stands high above the town of Voi overlooking a vast expanse of the African Bush. The lodge is easily reached by car from Voi Town (on the main Mombasa-Nairobi Highway). There is an airstrip 4 km from the lodge. Tsavo East National Park is easily accessible by air and road, and is approximately 160 kilometers from Mombasa, and 326 kilometers from Nairobi. 

Accommodation 

Voi Safari Lodge offers 53 rooms, on two levels, all with excellent views of the park. Although ensuite, the rooms are not spacious and reflect the age of this lodge, which was one of the first ones ever to be built in Kenya.

Dining and Bars 

The lodge offers two restaurants and two bars. The main restaurant is split level with good views but can become very crowded at lunchtime. Meals are typically buffet presentations.

Family and Children on safari 

Voi Safari Lodge welcomes children and can arrange baby-sitting upon request. Cots and extra beds are usually provided. No age-limit for children.

Voi Safari Lodge offers a range of conference and event services to include conference rooms, break-out area, conference banqueting, incentive options, and social events catering.
