Things to do in and around Arusha

Golf in the hotel golf course: Mount Meru hotel has an adjacent carefully designed golf course is sure to attract bird lovers from all over. An array of birdies, Eagles and even an Albatross or two have been rumoured to be in residence.

Other activities include safari game drives in especially adapted 4WD safari vehicles (with professionally trained Tanzania safari guides) in the nearby Arusha National Park that is located between Kilimanjaro and Meru. Arusha National park has a range of habitats: from lakes where water birds gather to the summit of Mt. Meru. Arusha is a base for climing Mt. Meru. Other Arusha Activities include cultural shows by Masai warriors, in full regalia, and a busy market displaying Masai craftsmanship. Arusha also has a clock tower at the midpoint between Cairo and Cape Town, the Arusha Declaration Monument Museum giving a glimpse of the Tanzanian freedom struggle and not to be missed is the National Natural History Museum with its display of the Laetoli Footprints, set in volcanic ash, dating 3,500,000 years ago.
