Diani House

Diani House is an intimate, catered 'guest house' and offers a refreshing alternative to Diani's hotels. Diani House is one of the oldest private houses on Kenya’s coast. Although modernized for comfort, the house retains its original character and charm.

Accommodation

The house can accommodate up to twelve guests.  There are four bedrooms in the main house with twin / double rooms (all en-suite).

There is also a two-roomed cottage set apart from the main house and which is popular with honeymooners.

The bedrooms have verandas with direct access to the gardens and beach and all are filled with antique furniture from Zanzibar and Lamu, including four-poster beds.  The main house has a large central living room and a spacious front verandah.

Gardens and Beach

Diani Beach is just 40 kilometers from Mombasa and has often been described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the World - 10 kilometers of brilliant white sand, the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and an amazing array of watersports.

The house is set in 12 acres of forested garden with 250 meters of beach frontage. Each bedroom has its own verandah and direct access to the garden and beach. The garden is a haven for small animals – vervet and the rare colobus monkeys; the tiny suni antelope; bush babies, monitor lizards and many types of birds.

Food

All food is home-cooked to a very high standard and meals include exotic fruit and vegetables and exquisite sea food. Meals are usually taken 'al fresco' on the verandah or in the garden and guests can order meals on their own verandahs if preferred.

Activities

We can arrange a series of additional activities from Diani House, including kitesurfing and windsurfing, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, and short safaris in the nearby Shimba Hills.
