A modern and functional hotel located on the southern slopes of Kilimanjaro, the Springland Hotel is named after the freshwater springs just a short distance from the hotel. These are fed by the rains and melting snows of Kilimanjaro and are of the highest purity. The springs then feed an extensive area of paddy fields beyond which lies a protected forest reserve. This supports a rich wildlife and provides relaxing walks to see the birds and several species of monkey. The hotel is near the town of Moshi, on the slopes of Kilimanjaro and is the base for mountain walking and mountain climbing trips and safaris to Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and the other wilderness areas of Northern Tanzania, including Mount Kilimanjaro National Park - ‘The Shining Mountain’

Close to the northern city of Arusha is the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 metres above sea level, is not only the highest mountain in Africa, but also the highest free-standing peak in the world.
Crowned by one fifth of the ice in Africa, the ‘Shining Mountain’ is the Mecca of every amateur climber in the world and is easily conquered by nearly 70,000 people every year. Set in its own 755 square-kilometre park, Kilimanjaro offers lowland forest, heather moorlands, montane desert and an arctic summit.

Wildlife highlights: monkeys, leopard, elephant, bushbuck, eland, buffalo and the rare Abbot’s duiker. Birds: include the rare lammergeyer, the Hunter’s cisticola and the scarlet-tufted malachite sunbird.

The rooms are ensuite with mosquito netting and ceiling fans. The Springland offers its own daily shuttle service from the hotel to Moshi. Buses run half hourly from the hotel from around 09.00hrs to 15.30hrs.
