Suyan Camp

The Suyan Camp is a seasonal camp that splits it time between two locations in the game controlled Loliondo Area, East of Serengeti National Park, part of the Serengeti eco-system, bordering Serengeti National Park. These locations allow for walking, cultural interchange, fossil hunting, serious hiking if requested and a chance to witness the migration of 2 million Serengeti animals by yourself unlike being in the more crowded areas of Serengeti. The camp is small with only 5 tents and offers gourmet food, great wines, and all the comforts you can possibly expect. A stay here is not about luxury. It is about discovery, exploration and nature in its overwhelming totality.

Location:

Suyan Camp is located east of Serengeti National Park is in the southern part of Loliondo known as Piaya from the 16th of December until the 31st of may and in northern Loliondo from the 1st of June to the 15th of December. Immediately beyond the boundaries of both the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Piaya area is ideally located for game drives in both of these famous safari venues.

From June to November the camp relocates to the Ololosokwan area, which is an exclusive conservancy in the north-eastern part of the Serengeti eco-system, just outside the Serengeti and very close to the Klein's Gate.  The Serengeti is 200 km west of Arusha, Tanzania: the park's northern boundary abuts with the Kenya border; its western boundary reaches Lake Victoria, Tanzania. The camp is available on game package basis only

Ten foot square tents made of heavy duty mosquito mesh ensure that guests are close to nature but apart from bugs. The freedom of movement, the intimacy of the light camp and the thrill of being so close to nature is the pinnacle of many guests' safaris. The Suyan lightweight camp is light enough to be moved easily and strike quickly. However, it still retains the everyday luxuries that characterize our tented camps - hot showers, comfortable bedding and cold drinks served with gourmet food.

Walking: Walking in the bush is an unforgettable safari experience that brings the feeling of really being part of the nature surrounding you. Walking safaris can differ in length and pace according to the preference of individual guests/groups. Walking safaris can also be combined with lightweight camping to give guests the ultimate safari experience - walking into your own private camp - where food and drinks await you - after a day of exploring the majestic Serengeti area.

Game drives & photography: Guides at Suyan Camp offer an unusually in-depth knowledge of their area, use open-sided vehicles, and are permitted the freedom of off-road driving to access hidden areas and rare wildlife. Suyan Camp operates in the remotest areas of the Serengeti eco-system, thus allowing for long-range game drives, which are undisturbed by other vehicles and afford guests private and unique sightings.
