AfroChic Boutique Resort

AfroChic Boutique Retreat has 10 beautifully decorated rooms, most with a view of the pristine Diani Beach and Indian ocean, which can be enjoyed from your private balcony. The Queen of Sheeba Suite overlooks the lush garden and fishpond, and enjoys a quiet tranquility. The Zanzibar Junior Suite, and the Punda Milia Executive Suite are both fitted with extra beds, and offer luxurious and private accommodation. All rooms enjoy: air-conditioning, mini-bar, private verandah, private in-room dining, room service and laundry service.

Location 

The resort is on Diani Beach. Diani beach is 25 miles south of Mombasa.  

Dining and bars

AfroChic Boutique Retreat features an extensive a la carte menu, with a distinct emphasis on the fresh fish and seafood brought in daily from the ocean.

The contemporary global cuisine is enhanced by the additional French, Indian, Swahili and Chinese specialties on the menu. The chef is also available to create menus according to your personal preference. 

Guests may dine in the dining room, veranda or in the lush green garden. However, you are also welcome to enjoy your meals from the privacy of your own bedroom balcony, or under the gazebo on the beach. 

Throughout the day, light refreshments are served on a complimentary basis, which can be enjoyed with a rich coffee or one of the quality wines available.

What to do and see

The retreat offers its own beach, pool and wellness spa (massage, reflexology and d-tox). Also offered are: kite-surfing and wind-surfing lessons, scuba-diving and horse riding. The activities on offer include swimming, snorkelling, sea kayaking, diving, water sports, dhow trips, glass-bottom boat trips, nature trails, butterfly farms, places of historic interest, visits to the nearby Shimba Hills (a coastal national park with plentiful elephant) or to the world-famous Arabuko Sokoke Forest, one of the last of the rainforests.  

Other attractions

Diani Beach itself offers just about everything the visitor could wish for: restaurants, shops, golf course and night spots plus; the Colobus Trust, an area of indigenous forest that provides a sanctuary for the areas many colobus monkeys and the Kaya Kinondo, a cultural centre built around a sacred Kaya (grove) of the Digo people.
