This seldom-visited reserve abuts the southern boundary of Murchison Falls National Park and surrounds the Weiga Swamp. Savanna woodland supports black-and-white colobus and olive baboons alongside scattered herds of buffaloes. Defassa waterbucks and bohor reedbucks populate the reserve, and lions, elephants, bushbucks and duikers are occasionally seen. The reserve offers extensive habitat for hippos, sitatunga, otters and marsh birds, such as black coucals marsh owls and yellow-mantled widow birds.
Location: 40km north of Butiaba.
