Haller Park

Mombasa's North Coast is nature lover's paradise. Here, visitors get to meet two of its most famous inhabitants: Owen the hippo and Mzee the Tortoise, who became inseperable roomates over time. Owen was found in 2004, at that time being a one-year old baby hippo, rescued from a tsunami. Mzee is an Aldabra Giant Tortoise, who is believed to be 130 years old. The two with time became inseparable.  Haller park has been recognised world wide as a showcase of ecological rehabilitation.

Karen Blixen/Giraffe Centre Tour

Malindi Tour

With a history dating back to the 14th century, Malindi town was made famous by the visit of the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama when he signed the trade agreement in 1498 - successfully navigating the business sea-route from Europe. Legends are told of Vasco de Gama that after being denied entry to the port of Mombasa, he sailed further north to Malindi where he was warmly received and where he erected the coral pillar that was eventually named after him - this is probably the oldest surviving European monument in tropical Africa.

Fourteen Falls, Thika

Fourteen Falls is a popular picnic spot, just outside the town of Thika, which lies 65kms north-east of Nairobi. The falls themselves are a series of waterfalls on the Athi River, which broadens at this point to flow through pleasant green pastures. Characterized by large boulders, the falls drop some 27 meters through a series of cascades, from which intrepid visitors like to jump, or ‘dive’ into the churning pools below.

Daphne Sheldrick's Orphanage

Located in Nairobi Game Park in Kenya is Daphne Sheldrick's Elephant Orphanage, originally started by famous naturalist David Sheldrick. Visitors to the park can see the young elephants interacting with their keepers – playing, taking mud baths and being fed with milk. This is a wonderful sight to watch and a wonderful way to get up close to the babies and observe their playful habits, something which isn’t always possible − or safe − in the wild.
